I like data. It is the collection of facts (?) or observations. Data in itself does not give you anything. Understanding how data has been generated is crucial in understanding the data. That’s why, it takes long time for a data worker to start any new job in any other company. Each company has their own way of handling their data and it is the job of data worker to understand the nuances and the details. Without such a learning process a data worker is not much useful.

I have been working on data for now more than 14 years. I started my work at startup in Bay area 14 years ago. I was a researcher then I realized I am not a good fit for a researcher. I am happy with my choice and I like learning new things .

I have started work on data on Postgres, then Hadoop then AWS and now Databricks. The biggest learning .. was about Hadoop. Hadoop spawned a lot of things .. we live on it now. I pick up what’s the best technology and what’s the most economic technology and work on it.
